How the EP-HGY650-V4 Works — Heavy-Duty Large-Container One-Step ISBM
The EP-HGY650-V4 operates on a 4-station one-step cycle scaled to the demands of large-format container production — where container weights reach 900 g and body diameters exceed 280 mm. The heavy-duty clamping system, large injection unit, and extended mold stroke are all designed specifically for the 5 L to 20 L container class that the ASB-650EXHS pioneered.
Large-volume injection unit handles preforms for containers up to 20 L and 900 g — the scale that smaller ISBM machines cannot reach. Dual clamping force maintains consistent injection pressure across the large mould area required for 5-gallon barrel preforms.
The conditioning station manages the temperature profile across the large preform wall — critical for large containers where the injection-to-blow wall ratio is far higher than in small-bottle production. No reheat oven. Gate trimmed at this station.
Extended stretch rod and high-volume blow station expand the large preform to the final container geometry — 5-gallon barrel, 20 L industrial drum, or 5–15 L edible oil bottle. Biaxial orientation delivers the creep resistance essential for returnable refillable 5-gallon containers.
Heavy-duty take-out system ejects finished large containers automatically. Up to 2 cavities for 5-gallon production; higher cavitation available for smaller large-format sizes. Zero flash, zero scrap, zero manual handling at the machine.
