Fully automatic PET blow molding machines for mineral water bottles, purified water bottles, beverages, functional drinks, juice, and large-capacity water barrels. The EP-HGA ES, JS, and J series cover the complete water and beverage packaging volume range — from 500 ml single-serve bottles through the dominant 700 ml to 1.5-litre retail format to 5-litre and 20-litre large-capacity barrel production.
ES / JS / J Series — Widest Category Coverage in the RSBM Range
Water and beverage packaging is the largest single application for RSBM PET blow molding globally — from 500 ml single-serve mineral water to 20-litre dispenser barrels, the bottle formats that define the water and beverage sector represent the highest production volumes produced on automatic PET blow molding equipment in most markets. The EP-HGA range covers this entire spectrum from a family of complementary machine platforms.
The ES series covers the core retail bottle range — from the 500 ml single-serve format on the ES-2C100 through the dominant 700 ml to 1.5-litre production range on the 4-cavity, 6-cavity, and 8-cavity configurations, to the 2.5-litre and 5-litre large-format beverage containers on the ES-2C200 and ES-2C260. The ES-8C76 is the highest-output machine in this category — the 8-cavity configuration for the 700 ml format delivers the maximum throughput for high-volume water and beverage operations running the most common retail bottle size.
The JS and J series extend production to the 5-litre and 20-litre barrel formats — the JS-2C200 for large-format water and beverage containers, the JS-2C366 for the 20-litre 5-gallon water dispenser barrel, and the J-2C366 for the 20-litre edible oil barrel format. For an introduction to the barrel machines, see the Large Capacity Barrel Machines category.

2-cavity machine for water and beverage bottles up to 500 ml. 100 mm mold-close. Entry configuration for single-serve mineral water, sparkling water, flavoured water, and small-format beverage bottles where 2-cavity output is matched to production volume requirements.
4-cavity machine for water and beverage bottles up to 700 ml. The core format for retail water and single-serve beverage at mid-scale production volumes — mineral water, purified water, functional beverages, flavoured drinks, and carbonation-compatible PET bottles where 4-cavity throughput meets annual volume requirements.
6-cavity machine for water and beverage bottles up to 700 ml. 50% more output per cycle than the ES-4C76 at the same mold-close. For water bottling operations and beverage producers whose annual 700 ml format volume exceeds 4-cavity capacity and requires the higher throughput of 6-cavity production without stepping up to 8-cavity tooling cost.
The highest-cavity-count machine in the ES series — 8 cavities, 700 ml maximum volume, 76 mm mold-close. Double the output per cycle of the ES-4C76 at the same container format. For large-scale water bottling plants and high-volume beverage operations where maximum machine throughput at the 700 ml format is the primary production requirement, and annual volume fully justifies 8-cavity tooling investment.
4-cavity machine for water and beverage containers up to 800 ml. 100 mm mold-close covers wider body profiles than the 76 mm configurations — for beverage bottles, functional drink containers, and flavoured water bottles where body shape requires the larger mold-close at approximately the same volume range. Six-industry platform coverage.
4-cavity machine for water and beverage containers up to 1,300 ml. 114 mm mold-close covers the 1-litre and 1.25-litre beverage bottle format at 4-cavity output — sport drinks, functional beverages, fruit juice, and water bottles in the mid-volume range where 4-cavity throughput is the target.
2-cavity multi-industry machine for water and beverage bottles up to 1,500 ml. Covers the 1-litre and 1.5-litre retail water and beverage format at 2-cavity production volume. Six-application industry platform — the same machine produces water, beverage, cosmetic, food, pharmaceutical, and chemical containers via mould changeover.
2-cavity wide-body machine for water and beverage bottles up to 1,500 ml. 150 mm mold-close accommodates wider body cross-sections than the ES-2C130 at the same maximum volume — covering beverage bottles and water containers with a rounder or flatter body profile where the wider mold-close geometry is required.
Highest-output standard 4-cavity ES configuration — 130 mm mold-close, 1,500 ml maximum volume. Double the output of the ES-2C130 at the same 1.5-litre water and beverage bottle specification. For bottling operations whose 1.5-litre format annual volume requires 4-cavity throughput, and where 6-cavity tooling investment is not yet warranted.
6-cavity machine for water and beverage bottles up to 1,500 ml — the highest-output configuration for the 1.5-litre format in the ES series. 50% more output per cycle than the ES-4C130 at the same maximum volume. For large-scale water bottling and beverage operations running the 1-litre to 1.5-litre format at the highest throughput available within the ES series platform.
2-cavity large-format machine for water and beverage containers up to 2,500 ml. 200 mm mold-close covers the 2-litre and 2.5-litre water and beverage container format — large retail water bottles, family-size juice and beverage containers, and dispensing-format water bottles for office and home use below the 5-litre barrel threshold.
2-cavity large-capacity machine for water and beverage containers up to 5,000 ml — the largest ES series configuration. For 5-litre water bottles and large-format beverage containers where the container geometry fits within the ES series 260 mm mold-close specification. Where the 5-litre container geometry requires extended stretch beyond ES series range, see the JS-2C200.
JS series large-capacity machine for water and beverage containers up to 5,000 ml. Extended stretching stroke and clamping force for 5-litre container geometries exceeding the ES-2C260 specification. Selected when the 5-litre container body geometry requires the JS series dimensional capability beyond the ES series envelope.
20-litre water barrel machine — the 5-gallon dispenser format used globally for bottled water cooler supply. 366 mm mold-close, 2-cavity. The dedicated water barrel configuration of the 20-litre JS series platform — tooling specification and process parameters configured for the round-body PET water barrel container format. See also the Large Capacity Barrel Machines page.
20-litre edible oil barrel machine — foodservice and institutional bulk cooking oil supply. Same 366 mm mold-close as the JS-2C366, but configured for the edible oil barrel body geometry and PET resin grade. Select the JS-2C366 for water barrels; select the J-2C366 for edible oil barrels — these are distinct machines for different container specifications.
Container Applications
Water and beverage packaging covers the full range from 500 ml single-serve retail to 20-litre dispenser barrels — the broadest volume span of any single application category in the RSBM range.
Retail mineral water, spring water, and purified water in the 500 ml, 700 ml, and 1.5-litre formats — the highest-volume single application for automatic PET blow molding globally. The ES series 4-cavity, 6-cavity, and 8-cavity configurations at 76 mm mold-close are the production machines for this format, with the ES-8C76 providing maximum throughput for large water bottling plant operations running the 700 ml format at high annual volumes.
Fruit juice, flavoured water, sports drinks, functional beverages, energy drinks, plant-based milk, and non-carbonated soft drinks in the 300 ml to 1.5-litre retail format. Beverage applications may require specific PET resin grades for UV protection, oxygen barrier, or flavour retention; the EP-HGA machines process standard food-grade and barrier-grade PET resin as specified for the application. Multi-cavity ES configurations from 76 mm to 130 mm cover the full beverage bottle range.
The 20-litre (5-gallon) refillable water barrel — the global standard for bottled water cooler supply in offices, commercial facilities, and domestic dispensers. PET dispenser barrels are lighter than polycarbonate (the traditional material), food-grade safe, and optically clear. The JS-2C366 produces this container format; for production volumes below fully automatic capacity, see the semi-automatic option on the RSBM Semi-Automatic Machines page.
Family-size and bulk retail water and beverage containers in the 2-litre, 2.5-litre, and 5-litre formats — large retail water bottles, family-size juice and beverage containers, and dispensing-format water bottles below the 20-litre barrel threshold. The ES-2C200 covers the 2.5-litre format; the ES-2C260 and JS-2C200 cover the 5-litre format for container geometries within and beyond the standard ES series blow station specification respectively.

Technical Advantages
Water and beverage operations demand the highest combination of output rate, uptime, and food-grade production hygiene in the PET blow molding sector.
The ES-8C76 is the highest-cavity-count machine in the ES series — 8 cavities at 76 mm mold-close for the 700 ml format. For large water bottling plant operations where maximum throughput from a single machine installation is the primary requirement, the ES-8C76 delivers double the output per cycle of the ES-4C76 at the same container specification. This is the machine for water bottling operations where annual volume at the 700 ml format fully justifies 8-cavity tooling investment and where minimum number of machine installations per unit of output is the operational target.
Water and beverage operations frequently require multiple container sizes — a 500 ml single-serve, a 1.5-litre retail format, and a 5-litre or 20-litre large-format or barrel. The EP-HGA ES, JS, and J series cover the complete range from a single machine supplier — with a consistent servo drive platform, common spare parts across the ES series, and a single engineering and service contact for the full machine portfolio. This integration simplifies procurement, training, maintenance, and engineering support across the complete production range.
The ES-6C114 is the highest-output configuration for the 1.5-litre format in the ES series — 6 cavities at 114 mm mold-close. For large-scale water bottling and beverage operations running the 1-litre to 1.5-litre format as their primary production format, the ES-6C114 provides the 6-cavity throughput that no 4-cavity machine can match at this volume range. Between the ES-4C130 (4-cavity, 130 mm) and the ES-6C114 (6-cavity, 114 mm), the correct selection depends on whether your 1.5-litre bottle body profile fits the 130 mm or 114 mm mold-close specification.
Water and beverage containers are in direct contact with products for human consumption — the production hygiene standard applied to the container manufacturing process is part of the overall food safety system for the packaged product. The EP-HGA fully automatic production cycle involves zero human hand contact with container interiors from preform feed through bottle discharge. This zero hand-contact standard supports food safety and water quality certification programme requirements at the container manufacturing stage, including NSF, ISO 22000, and local water authority requirements in markets where container production hygiene is audited as part of product quality systems.
Water bottling operations frequently run at or near continuous production — high-OEE, multi-shift, high-annual-volume operations where machine uptime and cycle-to-cycle consistency are measured and managed. Servo-driven systems provide the cycle repeatability — consistent container quality across millions of production cycles — and the reduced mechanical wear versus hydraulic-drive systems that contribute to higher long-term machine uptime. For water bottling operations where the machine is part of a filling line, consistent blow-mold output quality also reduces rejection rates and filling line disruptions caused by out-of-specification containers.
Two machines in this category can produce 5-litre water and beverage containers: the ES-2C260 at 260 mm mold-close, and the JS-2C200 at 200 mm mold-close. They are not interchangeable — selection is driven by the container geometry. The ES-2C260 covers 5-litre containers whose body cross-section fits within the 260 mm mold-close envelope of the ES series blow station. The JS-2C200 provides the extended stretching stroke and clamping force of the JS series for 5-litre container geometries whose production requirements exceed the ES-2C260 capability. Share your container drawing with our engineering team for confirmed selection between these two configurations.
