What Is One-Step ISBM
One Machine, Three Continuous Steps — Injection, Stretching and Blow Moulding
One-step Injection stretch blow moulding is a highly efficient plastic container molding process widely used in the production of high-precision, high-demand hollow plastic products such as baby bottles, water cups, medicine bottles, craft and special-shaped bottles, and cosmetic bottles made of PET, PETG, PP, PC, Tritan, PS, ABS or PLA. Its core feature is that the three steps of injection, stretching and blow moulding are completed continuously in the same equipment without intermediate steps, which greatly improves production efficiency and product stability.
The one-step ISBM machine is a new-generation production platform built for the blow moulding industry where high product quality is non-negotiable. It is suited to special-shaped bottles and containers with high appearance requirements. The entire production process involves no human hand contact with the product, which fully complies with GMP pharmaceutical packaging production standards. Standardised machine design with imported-brand mechanical components substantially improves reliability and stability.
Compared to two-step RSBM, the one-step process eliminates preform storage, transportation and secondary reheating, saving approximately 40% of energy. The stretching station orients material molecules biaxially, significantly improving compression resistance, barrier properties and transparency. If you require HDPE or PP bottle production without biaxial orientation, see our IBM Injection Blow Molding Machine range.
Working Principle
Four-Station Continuous Cycle — From Resin to Finished Bottle
The 3-station machine (HGY50-V3-EV) omits the independent heat-preservation station and moves directly from injection to stretch blow moulding. The 6-station machine (HGYS280-V6) adds a dedicated cooling station after blow moulding, extending in-mould cooling time and further improving wall-thickness uniformity.
Preform Injection
Plastic melt is injected around the core pin at the injection station. The bottle neck — including thread form and finish height — is dimensioned to closure-compatibility tolerance at this station. No subsequent trimming is required. Neck-diameter variation is typically held within plus or minus 0.05–0.10 mm.
Tail Cutting / Heat Preservation
The preform transfers to the heat-preservation station where the temperature field across the entire preform wall is equalised. Thorough thermal homogenisation at this stage is the prerequisite for uniform wall-thickness distribution in the blow moulding station. The 6-station machine benefits from a longer dwell time here.
Stretch Blow Moulding
The stretch rod extends the preform axially while high-pressure air at 2.0–3.5 MPa expands it radially, achieving simultaneous biaxial molecular orientation. This dual-axis stretch significantly improves compression resistance, gas barrier properties and optical clarity compared to injection blow moulding without stretch.
Bottle Take-Out
Finished bottles are automatically ejected and conveyed onto the discharge belt, which can be integrated directly with a downstream filling, capping and labelling line for continuous production. Zero waste is generated — no flash, no trim scrap, no edge material. The three-station machine completes all three actions simultaneously each cycle.
Core Advantage
Structural Advantages of the One-Step Injection Stretch Blow Molding Machine
The one-step ISBM machine offers product diversity — pharmaceutical vials, cosmetic flacons, baby bottles, water cups and special-shaped containers can all be produced on the same platform through mould changeover. These advantages are the result of more than twenty years of focused R&D at Ever Power HG.
Energy Efficient — 40% Saving vs. Two-Step Process
The one-step injection stretch blow moulding machine directly keeps the temperature of the preform until blowing, so there is no need for secondary heating of the preform. This reduces energy consumption by approximately 40% compared to two-step RSBM systems. Low energy consumption, low labour costs, small footprint and good product stability are the primary commercial advantages of this platform.
Excellent Performance — Biaxial Molecular Orientation
Stretching makes the material molecules oriented in two axes simultaneously. This biaxial orientation significantly improves the compression resistance, barrier properties and transparency of the finished bottle. Products manufactured on the EP-HGY series consistently achieve superior wall strength-to-weight ratios compared to extrusion blow moulded equivalents of the same resin weight.
High Precision and Product Stability
Full-process automation control reduces human error and is suitable for large-volume mass production. The entire production process involves no human hand contact with the product, meeting GMP pharmaceutical packaging production standards. This is a requirement for pharmaceutical vials, baby bottles and premium cosmetic containers where contamination control is a regulatory or brand-quality obligation.
High Material Utilization — Zero Scrap
Less waste material, environmental protection and low cost. Unlike extrusion blow moulding which generates 20–40% edge scrap per cycle and requires flash trimming, the one-step ISBM process produces zero waste — no flash, no gate trim waste, no edge scrap. The per-bottle material cost is therefore consistently lower, and there is no requirement for scrap-grinding and regrind management.

Mould System
One-Step Injection Stretch Blow Moulding Tooling
Mould Compatibility and Construction
The ISBM tooling system consists of three matched components: the injection mould, the stretch rod assembly and the blow mould cavity. All three must be co-engineered for the target bottle geometry and the specific EP-HGY machine model. We manufacture complete tooling sets in-house and additionally support the following widely-used third-party mould systems, enabling buyers with existing tooling assets to avoid re-tooling costs when upgrading to an EP-HGY machine.
Injection mould bodies are machined from imported S136 high-strength alloy steel or 4Cr13 stainless steel with mirror-finish cavity surfaces. Blow mould bodies may use aluminium alloy for faster thermal cycling and extended service life. All tooling undergoes trial-moulding verification before delivery to ensure first-fit production from the first shift.

Core Components
Imported Standard Components — Every Injection Stretch Blow Molding Machine We Build
The one-step ISBM machine adopts standardised design with imported-brand mechanical components, substantially improving machine reliability and stability. The following core components are used consistently across the entire EP-HGY series, simplifying spare-parts management and ensuring a stable supply chain.
NSK — Japan
NSK (Japan) lead screws, precision grade C3, repeat positioning accuracy plus or minus 0.01 mm. Combined with the full-servo drive system, NSK lead screws deliver the fine positional control required for consistent neck-dimension accuracy across all stations.
Parker — USA
Parker (USA) high-pressure hydraulic valves, rated to the maximum working pressure of the blow-moulding clamping system. Fast response, reliable sealing, consistent pressure across cycles — the foundation of hydraulic-system repeatability on every EP-HGY model.
Yaskawa / Inovance / WEICHI
Turntable rotation uses a Japan Yaskawa servo motor with a Taiwan TSUNTIEN reducer, or a WEICHI servo motor with a Taiwan TSUNTIEN reducer. The machine control system uses the Inovance or MiRLE PLC, selectable at order.
Airtac
Airtac pneumatic cylinders on all auxiliary motion axes — take-out station, mould-open assists and ancillary movements. Standardised ports across all models mean that every EP-HGY shares the same cylinder specification, minimising the spare-parts inventory a buyer needs to maintain.
YUKEN — Taiwan
YUKEN (Taiwan) hydraulic directional and pressure control valves on all hydraulic-drive models — HGY150-V4, HGY200-V4, HGY200-V4-B, HGY250-V4, HGY250-V4-B, HGYS280-V6 and HGY650-V4. High control precision, long service life under sustained production loads.
Nano Far-Infrared Energy-Saving Ring
Screw and barrel heating uses nano far-infrared energy-saving heating rings. Compared to conventional resistance heating bands, the far-infrared rings achieve more uniform melt temperature distribution, reduce energy draw, and are the foundation of stable, consistent preform quality across long production runs. The hydraulic oil tube on HGY250 series, HGYS280-V6 and HGY650-V4 uses Italian-imported tubing for enhanced pressure resistance and temperature durability.
