European-Architecture Injection Blow Molding — 60 Tonne Class
CE-Certified IBM with 30–92% Higher Injection Weight Than the Uniloy UIB90 Class
The EP-ZQ60 is independently engineered in the same capacity class as the Uniloy UIB90 — cited here only to assist buyers in comparing specifications, with no affiliation to Uniloy. It brings European-architecture clamping, CE marking and a substantially larger injection weight capacity to the 60-tonne IBM class.
EP-ZQ60 vs Uniloy UIB90 — Specification Comparison
The UIB90 is a mid-range machine in the Uniloy UIB series, widely used on pharmaceutical syrup, cosmetic lotion and nutraceutical bottle lines in North America. Producers expanding into EU or other regulated export markets, or re-equipping existing capacity, increasingly evaluate European-architecture alternatives alongside the established UIB platform. The EP-ZQ60 is one such option. Uniloy UIB90 figures are sourced from publicly available specification data. EP-ZQ60 Full Technical Specifications
The UIB90 class was designed around North American industrial conventions: UL-compliant electrical, ANSI-standard mechanical interfaces and a constant-pressure hydraulic circuit sized for the full clamping load throughout the cycle. The EP-ZQ60 approaches the same output class from a European engineering starting point — a pressurized booster-cylinder clamping system that applies full force only during the brief clamping phase, CE marking from the factory, and a 45/50 mm dual-screw option that delivers 260 to 383 g injection weight versus 200 g for the UIB90. Operating power runs at 52 to 70% of the 37 kW installed capacity across standard production conditions. Full specifications are tabulated below. Cavity Output at Each Volume Size
The UIB90 class is most commonly specified for oral liquid syrups, lotion bottles and supplement containers in the 30 to 250 ml range. The EP-ZQ60 covers this entire range and extends to 2000 ml — the 50 mm screw option in particular supports the heavier preforms needed for larger HDPE containers that the 45 mm UIB90 screw cannot reach at comparable injection weight. At 10 ml, 14 cavities per cycle serve pharmaceutical vial lines at throughput levels that would previously have required stepping to a larger UIB class.

How the EP-ZQ60 Addresses the UIB90 Buyers Priorities
260/383 g vs 200 g — Injection Weight That Bridges Two UIB Classes
The UIB90 delivers 200 g injection weight. Moving to the next UIB class up typically means a significant machine size and price step. The EP-ZQ60 delivers 260 to 383 g — 30 to 92% more than the UIB90 — within a machine envelope smaller than the UIB90 itself. Lines running larger lotion or syrup bottles at the top of their volume range can often stay within the 60-tonne class by switching to the EP-ZQ60 rather than upsizing to a larger UIB.
CE Marking — Ready for EU, UK and GMP Export Lines
The UIB90 is qualified under UL and ANSI standards suited to North American installations. The EP-ZQ60 carries CE marking under the EU Machinery Directive — the compliance standard required for pharmaceutical and cosmetic packaging equipment in the EU, UK, Australia and many regulated Asian markets. CE documentation is supplied with the machine and available in advance for import certification and GMP line qualification, with no additional re-certification work required.
Smaller Footprint: 3.8 x 1.4 x 1.8 m vs 4.2 x 1.5 x 2.1 m
Despite delivering higher injection weight and clamping force than the UIB90 class, the EP-ZQ60 is 0.4 m shorter, 0.1 m narrower and 0.3 m lower. At 1.8 m height versus 2.1 m, the EP-ZQ60 installs comfortably under the 2.1 m clean-room ceiling heights common in pharmaceutical facilities — a ceiling clearance the UIB90 class itself cannot meet. Floor density in multi-machine pharmaceutical packaging halls also improves measurably at the smaller EP-ZQ60 width.
Lower Per-Bottle Energy Cost — 52 to 70% Operating Power Ratio
The UIB series uses a constant-pressure hydraulic circuit in its clamping system, sized for the peak clamping load and active across a larger portion of each cycle. The EP-ZQ60 booster-cylinder applies full hydraulic force only during the brief clamping phase; the circuit operates at partial load through the rest of the cycle. At 37 kW installed capacity running 52 to 70% utilisation, the per-shift energy saving relative to a constant-pressure UIB90-class circuit compounds significantly over a pharmaceutical line running three shifts.
European Parts — Shorter Maintenance Lead Times Outside North America
UIB90-specific parts — hydraulic seals, valves and control components — typically require procurement from North American distributors or direct from Uniloy, with corresponding lead times for users outside that region. The EP-ZQ60 uses Festo (Germany) pneumatic valves, HALLITE (England) seals, Gefran (Italy) sensors and Schneider (France) electrical components — all with standard global distributor networks. For pharmaceutical maintenance teams where unplanned downtime has direct GMP compliance consequences, this parts availability difference is a practical operational consideration.
600 kN vs 500 kN — 20% More Clamping Force
At 600 kN versus approximately 500 kN for the UIB90 class, the EP-ZQ60 provides 20% more injection clamping force. Combined with the pressurized-clamping architecture, this supports more consistent preform filling across all 14 cavities at 10 ml and provides additional headroom for wider-neck pharmaceutical jar formats with higher projected clamping areas.
Component Origins and Service Network
For pharmaceutical packaging operations outside North America, the serviceability of the machine supply chain is as important as the headline specifications. The EP-ZQ60 is assembled from components with established global distributor networks. Schneider electrical contactors are available from industrial distributors in over 100 countries. Festo and HALLITE have distribution in every major manufacturing region. This breadth of coverage means maintenance teams running EP-ZQ60 machines in Europe, Asia and the Middle East can source replacement parts on standard lead times rather than importing from a single country of origin.

Material Range and Target Applications
The UIB90 class principally processes HDPE and PP in the 30 to 500 ml pharmaceutical and personal care range. The EP-ZQ60 covers this base and extends it in two directions: upward in injection weight — the 50 mm screw handles heavier preforms that approach the UIB120 class boundary — and into engineering resins such as PCTG and bio-based PLA that are increasingly specified for EU-market premium cosmetic and nutraceutical lines where material transparency and sustainability declarations are required alongside CE machine compliance.
Processable Materials
Farmacéutico
Oral liquid syrups, ophthalmic liquid containers, nasal spray, wide-mouth tablet jars — the core UIB90 application base, now with CE compliance
Cosmetic — EU Export
Lotion and serum bottles in PCTG or PP for EU cosmetics regulation compliance; toner and essence containers requiring food-contact material declarations
Nutraceutical
Supplement bottles, vitamin containers and protein powder jars — particularly where PLA bio-content labelling is required for EU or Australian market entry
Alimentos y bebidas
Honey jars, condiment bottles, edible oil containers and infant nutrition packaging in food-contact grade HDPE or PP up to 2000 ml
Tooling Transition from UIB90 to EP-ZQ60
Moving from UIB90 tooling to the EP-ZQ60 requires new molds designed to the ZQ60 geometry. UIB90 tooling does not transfer directly. The EP-ZQ60 platen of 600 x 390 mm is larger in both dimensions than the 560 x 360 mm UIB90 platen, providing 40 mm more length and 30 mm more width for the replacement mold design. This additional layout space is useful when the new tooling needs to accommodate wider neck diameters or larger cavity-to-cavity spacing than the original UIB90 mold allowed. Injection mold bodies are available in 4Cr13 stainless or S136 alloy steel; blow mold bodies in magnesium-aluminium alloy for faster thermal cycling on high-volume pharmaceutical lines.

40 mm Longer and 30 mm Wider Than UIB90 Platen
At 600 x 390 mm versus 560 x 360 mm for the UIB90, the additional platen area supports wider neck diameter tooling and provides more cavity spacing flexibility when commissioning the new mold design — a practical advantage for pharmaceutical wide-mouth jar formats.
S136 Steel — GMP Pharmaceutical Standard
Injection mold bodies from imported S136 high-strength alloy steel provide the surface finish and dimensional stability required for pharmaceutical packaging tooling across extended high-cycle operation under GMP conditions.
Zero Flash — No Debris Risk in Pharmaceutical Containers
The three-station process produces no parting-line flash, no gate mark and no runner waste. For pharmaceutical containers this eliminates the secondary trim debris risk associated with extrusion blow processes — a GMP-relevant distinction for oral liquid and ophthalmic vial production.
Production Line Configuration
The EP-ZQ60 installs as the central IBM machine in a pharmaceutical or cosmetic bottle line. Its 0.4 m shorter and 0.3 m lower profile versus the UIB90 class simplifies clean-room layout planning and HVAC clearance design. Ever Power provides whole-line turnkey proposals covering upstream raw material feeding and downstream filling, inspection and packing, or individual ancillaries to complement existing infrastructure.
